The Shoreline Community Church hosted a breakfast for pastors of some of our Intercultural churches in the area. Among those in the picture above are: Brazilian, Chinese, Fijian, Filipino, Indonesian, Romanian, Samoan and Latino pastors. Within a very short radius of the Shoreline church is a hodgepodge of ethnic diversity.
Besides the deaf ministry that they had launched, they recognized that they were being surrounded by immigrants coming from many nations, and that they were in a strategic location to missional not only Anglos, but to the diversity of peoples around them.
A number of years ago the Shoreline church began a deliberate effort to reach these immigrants with the gospel! They invited a Fijian group to use their facilities, and also reached out to a Filipino group. The Filipino church they helped establish has planted a branch church, and is preparing for another church plant this fall!
In November of 2013, they invited an Indonesian pastor to join with them! That church already has well over 100 regular attendees, and the majority are exchange students that will be carrying the Gospel back to their homeland!
