We were in Oklahoma for the Assemblies of God US Missions 75 year celebration just days before the fires swept through. Thankfully, the only fire we saw was the fire of the Holy Spirit moving among those gathered there.
Among those attending were a number of new missionaries, some of them called to Chi Alpha, Teen Challenge, Chaplains, Youth Alive, Church Planters, US MAPS, and Intercultural Ministries. It should always be our prayer that the Lord of the Harvest sends forth more laborers to His fields!
It has been our calling since we returned from Brazil to reach the immigrants to America. Dr. James Bradford, our General Secretary of the A/G, stated recently that, “Ethnic minorities now comprise approximately 40 percent of the Assemblies of God in the United States.” It is our job to help equip, encourage, and engage these groups, so that together we might rekindle a fresh revival fire in America!
The pastor of one of our fastest growing ethnic churches shared with us their concern that they were “overdue” on the rent of their meeting place. We had a time of prayer together, and in just a matter of minutes someone told them, they wanted to help. The next day an envelope arrived with enough to meet their payment! Isn’t that awesome? Jesus said, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” God’s answer was being delivered already before we even prayed! The Lord delights in blessing His children! I hope that quick response to prayer encourages you as much as it did our pastor friend, and us!
- That God would call more Native Americans to reach out to their own tribes.
- That the Lord will pour out His Spirit on the Vietnamese Camp-meeting in progress.
- That the Lord will supply an adequate space for a Brazilian church to meet.
- Pray for the Filipinas Islands as they recover from recent storms and floods.
